HIGD2A

Description

The HIGD2A (HIG1 hypoxia inducible domain family member 2A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

HIGD2A is a proposed subunit of cytochrome c oxidase (COX), also known as complex IV. COX is the final component of the mitochondrial respiratory chain, responsible for reducing oxygen to water. HIGD2A may play a role in COX activity and the assembly of respiratory supercomplexes.

HIGD2A is also known as HIG2A, RCF1b.
