HDAC11
Description
The HDAC11 (histone deacetylase 11) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.
HDAC11 is a 39kDa histone deacetylase enzyme encoded by the HDAC11 gene located on chromosome 3 in humans. It's classified as the sole Class IV HDAC due to its unique structure and lack of homology to other HDAC classes. Found primarily in brain and testis tissues, it's also upregulated in various cancer cells. HDAC11 negatively regulates IL-10 production in antigen-presenting cells and its inhibition leads to increased OX40L expression in Hodgkin lymphoma cells.
HDAC11 is also known as HD11.
