HCFC1R1

Description

The HCFC1R1 (host cell factor C1 regulator 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

HCFC1R1 regulates the activity of HCFC1 by controlling its location within the cell. When HCFC1R1 is present in high amounts, HCFC1 accumulates in the cytoplasm. This movement of HCFC1 out of the nucleus might be important for bringing a viral protein called VP16 into the nucleus.

HCFC1R1 is also known as HPIP.
