HBP1

Description

The HBP1 (HMG-box transcription factor 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

HBP1, also known as HMG-box transcription factor 1, is a human protein. HBP1 has been shown to interact with SIN3A and Retinoblastoma protein.

HBP1 is a transcriptional repressor that binds to the promoter region of target genes. It plays a role in regulating the cell cycle and Wnt pathway. HBP1 has a preference for the sequence 5'-TTCATTCATTCA-3' and its binding to the histone H1.0 promoter is enhanced by interaction with RB1. It also disrupts the interaction between DNA and TCF4.

HBP1 is also known as -.
