HAGH

Description

The HAGH (hydroxyacylglutathione hydrolase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

Hydroxyacylglutathione hydrolase, mitochondrial is an enzyme encoded by the HAGH gene in humans. It is categorized as a thiolesterase and plays a crucial role in hydrolyzing S-lactoyl-glutathione into reduced glutathione and D-lactate.

This enzyme acts as a thiolesterase, catalyzing the breakdown of S-D-lactoyl-glutathione into glutathione and D-lactic acid.

HAGH is also known as GLO2, GLX2, GLXII, HAGH1.
