HABP2
Description
The HABP2 gene provides instructions for making a protein called hyaluronan-binding protein 2. This protein plays a crucial role in regulating the formation and stability of blood vessels, particularly during embryonic development. HABP2 interacts with hyaluronan, a sugar molecule found in the extracellular matrix, to control the growth and organization of endothelial cells, which form the lining of blood vessels. Dysregulation of HABP2 expression or function can contribute to various vascular abnormalities and diseases.
