GTF2A1

Description

The GTF2A1 (general transcription factor IIA subunit 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

Transcription initiation factor IIA subunit 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GTF2A1 gene.

== Interactions == GTF2A1 has been shown to interact with TATA binding protein and TBPL1.

TFIIA, which includes GTF2A1 as its large subunit, is a crucial part of the RNA polymerase II transcription machinery. It plays a vital role in activating gene expression by forming a complex with TBP (TATA-binding protein). This complex ultimately mediates transcriptional activity.

GTF2A1 is also known as TF2A1, TFIIA, TFIIA-42, TFIIAL.
