GSDMC

Description

The GSDMC (gasdermin C) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.

Gasdermin C is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GSDMC gene.

Gasdermin-C is a precursor protein that is cleaved to release its N-terminal moiety, which then binds to membranes and forms pores, triggering pyroptosis. (PMID:32929201, PMID:34012073)

GSDMC is also known as MLZE.
