GPR162

Description

The GPR162 (G protein-coupled receptor 162) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

GPR162, encoding the Probable G-protein coupled receptor 162 protein, was discovered during genomic analysis of a gene-dense area on chromosome 12p13. The protein primarily shows expression in the brain, but its specific function remains uncharacterized. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing of the gene.

This receptor lacks a known ligand, indicating it may bind an unidentified molecule or participate in signaling pathways in a ligand-independent manner.

GPR162 is also known as A-2, GRCA.
