GPR137B

Description

The GPR137B (G protein-coupled receptor 137B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

GPR137B, also known as G protein-coupled receptor 137B, is a G protein-coupled receptor encoded by the GPR137B gene in humans. The expression of GPR137B is upregulated during kidney development.

GPR137B is a lysosomal integral membrane protein that plays a critical role in regulating the localization and activity of mTORC1, a signaling complex crucial for cell growth in response to growth factors, energy levels, and amino acids. GPR137B interacts with Rag GTPases, enhancing their localization and activity within lysosomes, thereby regulating the translocation and activity of mTORC1 within these organelles. Furthermore, GPR137B is involved in the regulation of lysosomal morphology and autophagy.

GPR137B is also known as TM7SF1.
