GPAM
Description
The GPAM (glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase, mitochondrial) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.
GPAM, or Glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase 1, mitochondrial, is an enzyme encoded by the GPAM gene in humans. GPAT, the enzyme encoded by GPAM, is responsible for the initial and rate-limiting step in glycerolipid biosynthesis. This enzyme's activity is crucial for regulating cellular levels of triacylglycerol and phospholipids.
GPAM is also known as GPAT, GPAT1.
