GNL3

Description

The GNL3 (G protein nucleolar 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

Guanine nucleotide-binding protein-like 3, also known as nucleostemin, is a protein encoded by the GNL3 gene in humans. It resides within the nucleolus and binds to the p53 protein. Nucleostemin regulates the cell cycle and influences cell differentiation, decreasing in abundance as differentiation progresses. It serves as a marker for many stem cells and cancer cells. GNL3 interacts with Mdm2 and P53.

GNL3 is also known as C77032, E2IG3, NNP47, NS, Nug1.
