GNG4

Description

The GNG4 (G protein subunit gamma 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

The GNG4 gene encodes the gamma-4 subunit of guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(I)/G(S)/G(O), a protein involved in cellular signaling.

G proteins act as modulators or transducers in various transmembrane signaling pathways. The beta and gamma subunits are essential for GTPase activity, GDP-GTP exchange, and interactions with G protein effectors.

GNG4 is also known as HG3C.
