GJB7

Description

The GJB7 (gap junction protein beta 7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

GJB7, also known as connexin-25 (Cx25), is a protein encoded by the GJB7 gene in humans. Connexins, like GJB7, are involved in creating gap junctions, which are intercellular channels directly connecting the cytoplasms of adjacent cells. Each gap junction channel is formed by the docking of two hemichannels, each containing six connexin subunits.

GJB7 is also known as CX25, bA136M9.1, connexin25.
