GINS2

Description

The GINS2 (GINS complex subunit 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

GINS2 (GINS complex protein PSF2) is a protein encoded by the GINS2 gene in humans. It interacts with CHEK2.

GINS2 is essential for the proper function of the GINS complex. This complex is crucial for the initiation of DNA replication and the progression of replication forks. The GINS complex is a core component of the CDC45-MCM-GINS (CMG) helicase, which unwinds the DNA template during replication and serves as a platform for replisome assembly.

GINS2 is also known as HSPC037, PSF2, Pfs2.
