ZZEF1

Description

The ZZEF1 (zinc finger ZZ-type and EF-hand domain containing 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

ZZEF1 functions as a ‘reader‘ of histone H3 modifications, particularly H3K4me3 and H3K4ac. It acts as a transcriptional coactivator, enhancing the activity of KLF6 and KLF9 transcription factors.

ZZEF1 is also known as ZZZ4.
