ZNF148

Description

The ZNF148 (zinc finger protein 148) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

Zinc finger protein 148 is a protein found in humans and is encoded by the ZNF148 gene. It interacts with PTRF and P53. The protein is involved in transcriptional regulation and has been shown to repress the transcription of several genes. ZNF148 interacts with HNRNPDL and the 5FMC complex, requiring CHTOP for its interaction with the latter. It is predicted to interact with CAVIN1 based on similarities.

ZNF148 plays a role in regulating gene expression. It acts as a repressor, inhibiting the transcription of genes such as gastrin, stromelysin, and enolase. This repression is achieved by ZNF148 binding to the G-rich box located in the enhancer region of these genes.

ZNF148 is also known as BERF-1, BFCOL1, GDACCF, HT-BETA, ZBP-89, ZFP148, pHZ-52.
