ZMAT3

Description

The ZMAT3 (zinc finger matrin-type 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

ZMAT3 is a direct target of the tumor suppressor gene TP53 (p53). It participates in the p53-dependent regulation of cell growth. ZMAT3 may contribute to apoptosis triggered by p53 by controlling p53‘s expression levels and movement into the nucleus and nucleolus.

ZMAT3 is also known as PAG608, WIG-1, WIG1.
