ZDHHC18

Description

The ZDHHC18 (zinc finger DHHC-type palmitoyltransferase 18) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

ZDHHC18 catalyzes the attachment of palmitate to various proteins, including CGAS, HRAS, and LCK. This palmitoylation process regulates the activity of these proteins, including the inactivation of CGAS, a key component of the cGAS-STING pathway. Additionally, ZDHHC18 may also palmitoylate the beta-2 adrenergic receptor (ADRB2) and influence G protein-coupled receptor signaling. ZDHHC18 is also known as DHHC-18, DHHC18.
