ZC3H11A

Description

The ZC3H11A (zinc finger CCCH-type containing 11A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

ZC3H11A, encoded by the ZC3H11A gene, is a protein that plays a role in exporting mRNAs from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. It is a component of the transcription export (TREX) complex and is considered a stress-induced nuclear protein, maintaining mRNA export during cellular stress. Loss of ZC3H11A function in HeLa cells leads to a disruption in the replication of nuclear replicating viruses but not cytoplasmic replicating viruses.

ZC3H11A is an RNA-binding protein that interacts with purine-rich sequences and is involved in nuclear mRNA export. It is likely that ZC3H11A associates with the TREX complex to mediate mRNA export.

ZC3H11A is also known as ZC3HDC11A.
