WDR33

Description

The WDR33 (WD repeat domain 33) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

WDR33 is a human gene that encodes a protein belonging to the WD repeat protein family. WD repeats are conserved regions in proteins that help form multiprotein complexes. WDR33 is involved in various cellular processes, including cell cycle regulation, signal transduction, apoptosis, and gene regulation. This gene is highly expressed in the testes and the protein is found in the nucleus. It may contribute to cell differentiation and DNA recombination. Multiple versions of the WDR33 gene exist, each encoding a different protein isoform.

WDR33 is crucial for the proper cleavage and addition of a poly-A tail to the 3' end of pre-messenger RNA (pre-mRNA).

WDR33 is also known as NET14, WDC146.
