VSIG1

Description

The VSIG1 (V-set and immunoglobulin domain containing 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

VSIG1 (V-set and immunoglobulin domain containing 1) is a human gene that encodes a protein belonging to the junctional adhesion molecule (JAM) family. This protein is characterized by multiple glycosylation sites at its N-terminus, phosphorylation sites, glutamic acid/proline (EP) repeats at the C-terminus, and expression in normal stomach and testis, as well as in gastric, esophageal, and ovarian cancers. The gene is known to have multiple isoforms resulting from alternative splicing.

VSIG1 is also known as 1700062D20Rik, GPA34, dJ889N15.1.
