URAD
Description
The URAD (ureidoimidazoline (2-oxo-4-hydroxy-4-carboxy-5-) decarboxylase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13.
URAD catalyzes the specific removal of a carboxyl group from 2-oxo-4-hydroxy-4-carboxy-5-ureidoimidazoline (OHCU), producing (S)-allantoin.
URAD is also known as PRHOXNB.
