UCN

Description

The UCN (urocortin) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

UCN is a gene that belongs to the human urocortin family. It is also known as the UCN gene. UCN is a human gene and can also refer to other things like the IATA Airport Code for Buchanan Airport or a survival horror video game.

UCN acts in vitro to stimulate the secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) (PubMed:8612563). It binds with high affinity to CRF receptor types 1, 2-alpha, and 2-beta (PubMed:8612563). UCN plays a role in the establishment of normal hearing thresholds (By similarity) and reduces food intake while regulating ghrelin levels in gastric body and plasma (By similarity). UCN interacts with CRHR1 and CRHR2 through their N-terminal extracellular domain.

UCN is also known as UCN1, UI, UROC.
