UBXN6

Description

The UBXN6 (UBX domain protein 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

UBX domain protein 6 is a protein in humans that is encoded by the UBXN6 gene.

UBXN6 may negatively regulate the ATPase activity of VCP, an ATP-driven segregase involved in various cellular processes. As a cofactor of VCP, UBXN6 is implicated in the transport of CAV1 to lysosomes for degradation, ERAD of misfolded proteins, and macroautophagy, including the clearance of damaged lysosomes.

UBXN6 is also known as UBXD1, UBXDC2.
