UBXN10

Description

The UBXN10 (UBX domain protein 10) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

UBXN10 is crucial for ciliogenesis, acting as a tethering factor that recruits the VCP/p97 protein to the intraflagellar transport complex B (IFT-B) in cilia. This interaction facilitates the movement of components along the cilia, essential for their proper function. UBXN10 belongs to a family of proteins that bind to VCP/p97 and likely contribute to its substrate specificity, directing the protein's activity towards specific targets.

UBXN10 is also known as UBXD3.
