UBOX5

Description

The UBOX5 (U-box domain containing 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

UBOX5 is a gene that encodes the protein RING finger protein 37 in humans. UBOX5 has been shown to interact with UBE2L3.

UBOX5 may function as a ubiquitin-protein ligase (E3), facilitating the attachment of ubiquitin to target proteins. This activity can either directly attach ubiquitin to substrates or promote the elongation of existing ubiquitin chains.

UBOX5 is also known as RNF37, UBCE7IP5, UIP5, hUIP5.
