UBE2R2

Description

The UBE2R2 (ubiquitin conjugating enzyme E2 R2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

UBE2R2 is a human protein encoded by the UBE2R2 gene. Protein kinase CK2, a ubiquitous and pleiotropic Ser/Thr protein kinase, is involved in cell growth and transformation. UBE2R2 is similar to the E2 ubiquitin conjugating enzyme UBC3/CDC34. Studies suggest that CK2-dependent phosphorylation of UBE2R2 regulates beta-TrCP substrate recognition and induces its interaction with beta-TrCP, enhancing beta-catenin degradation.

UBE2R2 is also known as CDC34B, E2-CDC34B, UBC3B.
