UBE2E2

Description

The UBE2E2 (ubiquitin conjugating enzyme E2 E2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

UBE2E2 is a human gene that encodes for a protein known as ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 E2.

UBE2E2 accepts ubiquitin from the E1 complex and facilitates its attachment to other proteins. It catalyzes the formation of 'Lys-11', 'Lys-48', and 'Lys-63' linked polyubiquitin chains in vitro. Additionally, UBE2E2 is involved in the ISGylation of the influenza A virus NS1 protein.

UBE2E2 is also known as UBCH8.
