Description

The TXNDC5 (thioredoxin domain containing 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

Thioredoxin domain-containing protein 5 is a protein encoded by the TXNDC5 gene in humans. It functions as a protein disulfide-isomerase and its expression is induced by hypoxia. Its role may be to protect hypoxic cells from apoptosis.

TXNDC5 is also known as ENDOPDI, ERP46, HCC-2, HCC2, PDIA15, STRF8, UNQ364.
