TRIM45

Description

The TRIM45 (tripartite motif containing 45) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

TRIM45, also known as tripartite motif containing 45, is a human gene encoding a member of the tripartite motif family. The encoded protein functions as a transcriptional repressor of the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway. Multiple transcript variants have been identified.

TRIM45 is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase involved in regulating the inflammatory response. It mediates the 'Lys-48'-linked polyubiquitination of TAB2, a regulatory protein of the kinase TAK1, leading to its degradation through the proteasomal pathway and inhibiting the TLR-mediated inflammatory immune response. Additionally, TRIM45 may act as a transcriptional repressor in the mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway.

TRIM45 is also known as RNF99.
