TRIM43

Description

The TRIM43 (tripartite motif containing 43) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

TRIM43 acts as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, playing a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the nuclear lamina. It regulates the interaction between viral chromatin and transcriptionally active host chromatin, serving as an antiviral defense against herpesviruses. Furthermore, TRIM43 mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of PCNT through the proteasome.

TRIM43 is also known as TRIM43A.
