TNFRSF10D

Description

The TNFRSF10D (TNF receptor superfamily member 10d) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.

TNFRSF10D, also known as Decoy receptor 2 (DCR2) or TRAIL receptor 4 (TRAILR4), is a human cell surface receptor belonging to the TNF-receptor superfamily. It contains an extracellular TRAIL-binding domain, a transmembrane domain, and a truncated cytoplasmic death domain. This receptor does not induce apoptosis and has been shown to play an inhibitory role in TRAIL-induced cell apoptosis.

TNFRSF10D is a receptor for the cytotoxic ligand TRAIL (PubMed:9430226). It contains a truncated death domain and therefore cannot induce apoptosis but protects against TRAIL-mediated apoptosis (PubMed:9537512). Its ability to induce the NF-kappa-B pathway is contradictory. Some reports suggest it cannot (PubMed:9382840), while others claim it can (PubMed:9430226).

TNFRSF10D is also known as CD264, DCR2, TRAIL-R4, TRAILR4, TRUNDD.
