TNFRSF10A
Description
The TNFRSF10A (TNF receptor superfamily member 10a) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.
TNFRSF10A is a cell surface receptor that binds to TRAIL and triggers apoptosis. It is activated by TRAIL, and through interactions with the adapter protein FADD, it mediates cell death. TNFRSF10A has been shown to interact with DAP3.
TNFRSF10A is a receptor for the cytotoxic ligand TNFSF10/TRAIL, triggering apoptosis. Upon activation, TNFRSF10A recruits the adapter molecule FADD, leading to caspase-8 recruitment and formation of the death-inducing signaling complex (DISC). This complex activates caspase-8, initiating a cascade of caspases that mediate apoptosis. Additionally, TNFRSF10A promotes activation of NF-kappa-B.
TNFRSF10A is also known as APO2, CD261, DR4, TRAILR-1, TRAILR1.
