TMSB4Y
Description
The TMSB4Y (thymosin beta 4 Y-linked) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome Y.
Thymosin beta-4, Y-chromosomal is a protein encoded by the TMSB4Y gene on the Y chromosome. It consists of 44 amino acids with a molecular weight of 4881. This gene resides within the male-specific region of the Y chromosome. Interestingly, its homolog on the X chromosome (thymosin beta-4) escapes X inactivation and also encodes an actin sequestering protein.
TMSB4Y is also known as TB4Y.
