TMIGD2

Description

The TMIGD2 (transmembrane and immunoglobulin domain containing 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

Transmembrane and immunoglobulin domain containing 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TMIGD2 gene. TMIGD2 was discovered by Nader Rahimi.

TMIGD2 plays a crucial role in cell-to-cell communication, influencing cell migration and the development of new blood vessels (angiogenesis). It works alongside HHLA2 to stimulate T cells, particularly in response to activation through the T cell receptor (TCR). This interaction promotes T cell growth (proliferation) and the production of signaling molecules (cytokines) by activating a signaling pathway involving the AKT protein.

TMIGD2 is also known as CD28H, IGPR-1, IGPR1.
