TMEM259

Description

The TMEM259 (transmembrane protein 259) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

TMEM259 may participate in the ERAD pathway, which is responsible for removing misfolded proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). This protein could contribute to the survival of motor neurons by mitigating ER stress.

TMEM259 is also known as ASBABP1, C19orf6, MBRL, MEMBRALIN, R32184_3.
