TMEM219, also known as insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 3 receptor (IGFBP-3R), is a protein encoded by the TMEM219 gene in humans. IGFBP-3R acts as a cell death receptor for IGFBP3.
This receptor specifically binds IGFBP3, potentially triggering caspase-8-dependent apoptosis (programmed cell death) upon ligand binding.
