TLE3

Description

The TLE3 (TLE family member 3, transcriptional corepressor) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

TLE3, or Transducin-like enhancer protein 3, is a protein encoded by the TLE3 gene in humans. Higher levels of TLE3 expression have been associated with improved survival rates in lung cancer patients.

TLE3 acts as a transcriptional corepressor, interacting with various transcription factors to regulate gene expression. It specifically inhibits the activation of transcription mediated by CTNNB1 and TCF family members, which are key components of the Wnt signaling pathway. The activity of full-length TLE family members can be influenced by interactions with dominant-negative AES proteins.

TLE3 is also known as ESG, ESG3, GRG3, HsT18976.
