TIPRL
Description
The TIPRL (TOR signaling pathway regulator) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.
TIPRL (TIP41-like protein) is likely an allosteric regulator of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A). Its isoform 1 inhibits PP2A's catalytic activity in vitro, while the PP2A(C):TIPRL complex lacks phosphatase activity. TIPRL negatively regulates protein phosphatase 4 by inhibiting the formation of the active PPP4C:PPP4R2 complex. This function may be involved in DNA damage response by promoting phosphorylation of H2AX on Ser-140 (gamma-H2AX). TIPRL might also play a role in regulating the ATM/ATR signaling pathway, which controls DNA replication and repair.
TIPRL is also known as TIP, TIP41, TIPRL1.
