THEMIS2

Description

The THEMIS2 (thymocyte selection associated family member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

THEMIS2 plays a crucial role in regulating inflammatory responses in macrophages by enhancing TNF production triggered by LPS through the TLR4 pathway. It also determines the activation threshold for B cells in response to low-affinity and low-avidity ligands by activating PLCG2 and its associated signaling pathways.

THEMIS2 is also known as C1orf38, ICB-1, ICB1.
