THEMIS

Description

The THEMIS (thymocyte selection associated) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

The THEMIS mission, named after the Titan Themis, was launched in February 2007 by NASA to study substorms, magnetic phenomena that intensify auroras. The mission consists of five satellites, three orbiting Earth within the magnetosphere and two renamed ARTEMIS (Acceleration, Reconnection, Turbulence and Electrodynamics of the Moon's Interaction with the Sun) orbiting the Moon. Each satellite carries five instruments to study substorms. THEMIS data can be accessed through the SPEDAS software.

THEMIS is also known as C6orf190, C6orf207, GASP, SPOT, THEMIS1, TSEPA.
