TEP1

Description

The TEP1 (telomerase associated protein 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

TEP1 (Telomerase protein component 1) is an enzyme encoded by the TEP1 gene in humans. It is a component of the ribonucleoprotein complex responsible for telomerase activity, which adds new telomeres to the ends of chromosomes. The proteins involved in telomerase are conserved across various organisms, from ciliates to humans. TEP1 is also a minor vault protein.

TEP1 is also known as TLP1, TP1, TROVE1, VAULT2, p240.
