TEDDM1

Description

The TEDDM1 (transmembrane epididymal protein 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

TEDDM1, also known as TMEM45C, encodes a transmembrane protein with six alpha-helix transmembrane regions. It contains a family of unknown function with 118 amino acids. While its exact function is not understood, it is predicted to be a part of the plasma membrane. TEDDM1 is found on chromosome 1 at location 1q25.3 on the minus end and consists of a single exon. It is located near genes such as GLUL, LINC00272, and LOC122149321. TEDDM1 is expressed in most major tissues, with high levels in the testis and low levels in the heart. In the brain, it is expressed in the amygdala, hippocampus, and striatum.

TEDDM1 is also known as EDDM9, Epdd1, HE9, HEL-S-45e, TMEM45C.
