TBCB
Description
The TBCB (tubulin folding cofactor B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.
Tubulin-folding cofactor B is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TBCB gene.
TBCB binds to alpha-tubulin folding intermediates following their interaction with cytosolic chaperonin, participating in the pathway leading from newly synthesized tubulin to the formation of properly folded heterodimers. It also plays a role in regulating the dissociation of tubulin heterodimers and may act as a negative regulator of axonal growth.
TBCB is also known as CG22, CKAP1, CKAPI.
