STYXL1

Description

The STYXL1 (serine/threonine/tyrosine interacting like 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

Serine/threonine/tyrosine-interacting-like protein 1 is a protein, encoded in humans by the STYXL1 gene.

STYXL1 is a catalytically inactive phosphatase that inhibits the formation of G3BP1-induced stress granules by binding to G3BP1. It does not protect the dephosphorylation of G3BP1 at 'Ser-149'. STYXL1 also inhibits PTPMT1 phosphatase activity, which positively regulates intrinsic apoptosis. STYXL1 may play a role in the formation of neurites during neuronal development.

STYXL1 is also known as DUSP24, MK-STYX, MKSTYX.
