SP9

Description

The SP9 (Sp9 transcription factor) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

SP9 is a gene that encodes a transcription factor involved in limb development.

SP9 is a transcription factor that is essential for limb development. It promotes the expression of fibroblast growth factor 8 (FGF8) in the apical ectodermal ridge (AER), a specialized signaling center at the tip of developing limbs. This regulation of FGF8 contributes to the growth and development of limbs in embryos.

SP9 is also known as ZNF990.
