SNTB2

Description

The SNTB2 (syntrophin beta 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

Beta-2-syntrophin is a protein encoded by the SNTB2 gene in humans. It's found associated with dystrophin and dystrophin-related proteins, playing a role in muscle function. SNTB2 is part of the syntrophin gene family, which includes other structurally similar genes. It has been shown to interact with ABCA1.

SNTB2 acts as an adapter protein, linking membrane proteins to the actin cytoskeleton and the dystrophin glycoprotein complex. It helps regulate the subcellular localization of these proteins. SNTB2 may also play a role in regulating secretory granules by interacting with PTPRN.

SNTB2 is also known as D16S2531E, EST25263, SNT2B2, SNT3, SNTL.
