SLC38A7

Description

The SLC38A7 (solute carrier family 38 member 7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

SLC38A7 is a symporter that selectively cotransports sodium ions and amino acids, including L-glutamine and L-asparagine, from the lysosome into the cytoplasm. This transport process may contribute to the activation of the mTORC1 complex. The transport activity of SLC38A7 is dependent on an acidic lysosomal lumen.

SLC38A7 is also known as SNAT7.
