SLC35B3

Description

The SLC35B3 (solute carrier family 35 member B3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

SLC35B3 acts as an antiporter at the Golgi membranes, exchanging 3'-phosphoadenylyl sulfate (PAPS) for adenosine 3',5'-bisphosphate. This process transports PAPS, a key sulfuryl donor for sulfation reactions, from the cytosol into the Golgi lumen.

SLC35B3 is also known as C6orf196, CGI-19, PAPST2.
